Eastmans Hunting Journal celebrates 25 years

Ronald Regan was the president, the Minnesota Twins won the World Series, Texaco went broke and earthquakes shocked Los Angeles. The year was 1987 and besides these memorable moments in history, big things were happening in Wyoming. Mike Eastman and his wife, Bertie, embarked on a mission to create a publication specifically geared toward Western big game hunting. With their brand new Macintosh 512K computer, they laid the groundwork for what has become the original resource for Western big game hunters.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Eastmans’ Hunting Journal. Even after 25 years and hundreds of thousands of readers from every corner of the United States and overseas, the Eastmans never let go of their humble beginnings in northwest Wyoming.
With Mike’s sons, Guy and Ike, at the helm today, the magazine’s numbers have never been higher and it’s a testament to just how much work Mike and Bertie endured during the past 25 years.
Eastmans’ Publishing Inc. is the leading publisher of the two largest Western trophy big game hunting magazines in the world.
