Outdoor Writers Association of America Hires Meeting Planner
Missoula, Mont. – Gail Brockbank of Helena, Mont., was awarded a contract
November 1 to plan Outdoor Writers Association of America’s (OWAA) 80th annual
conference.
Brockbank operates Premier Planning, a Helena business that specializes in
association management and conference planning. Brockbank brings more than 25
years of event planning experience to OWAA. Prior to forming her own company,
for more than a decade Brockbank was employed by Travel Montana.
“Gail comes with a proven track record. She pays high attention to detail, and
she will bring the personal, caring service that our members have come to
expect,” said OWAA Executive Director Kevin Rhoades.
Brockbank has coordinated more than 25 national and international conferences.
Prior to forming her own company, she was employed by Travel Montana. One of her
responsibilities there was management of the annual Montana governor’s
conference on tourism and recreation.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the staff and membership of an
organization with high professional standards and providing support for the
advancement of its mission through conference planning,” Brockbank said.
OWAA’s 80th annual conference will be held in Roanoke, Va., June 16-19, 2007.

The 1,600-member Outdoor Writers Association of America is the oldest and
largest association of professional outdoor communicators in the United States.
It was organized in 1927 by members of the Izaak Walton League of America and
includes professional communicators dedicated to sharing the outdoor experience.
OWAA’s professionals include writers, photographers, outdoors radio- and
television show hosts, book authors, videographers, lecturers and artists. The
