Tony Dolle Elected Vice President of Outdoor Writers Association of America

Missoula, Mont. – At its 80th annual conference, OWAA’s board of directors elected Tony Dolle third vice president of the association for 2007-08.

Dolle is the director of corporate communications for an insurance marketing firm and is president of his own PR firm, Advantage Communications. He is a sporting dog columnist for several publications throughout the Midwest, a boating writer and freelancer. Dolle will also double as this year's supporting group, business and agency liaison.

Dolle comes to his officer position from a seat on OWAA’s board and has been a member of OWAA for 28 years. He also presently serves as president elect of the Tennessee Outdoor Writers Association.

“It is a tremendous honor and responsibility at the same time,” said Dolle. “This truly is the premier media organization for the outdoors and here I am in line to lead it…that’s an honor.”

“Previously serving the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers (AGLOW) as president, Tony Dolle brings a wealth of association experience to OWAA,” said OWAA Executive Director Kevin Rhoades. “Tony also has chaired numerous OWAA committees and previously served as our corporate liaison. Without question OWAA will benefit from Tony’s spirit of volunteerism and engagement.”

The 1,600-member Outdoor Writers Association of America is the oldest and largest association of professional outdoor communicators in the United States. It was organized in 1927 by members of the Izaak Walton League of America and includes professional communicators dedicated to sharing the outdoor experience. OWAA’s professionals include writers, photographers, outdoors radio- and television show hosts, book authors, videographers, lecturers and artists. The association is headquartered in Missoula, Mont.
